With the dog's waist clamped between your knees, hold up the harness by the sides of the padded, diamond-shaped neck opening, with the padded breast plate away from you.

Then fold the top and bottom of the breast plate together,

hold the sides and neck opening apart in each hand, and then drop them over the dog's nose...

...over his head, down past his neck (work it over his collar) and onto his shoulders.

Now reach down through the side of the harness, grab the dog's left wrist,

and pull his leg up and forward through the harness.

Repeat the process on the right side.

Now pull the tug loop back towards the dog's tail and check that the "X" is over the middle of his back and nothing is twisted.

To lead him to the sled (instead of the other way around or other exciting variables), hoist the dog's front paws off the ground, taking him out of 4WD.
